Hunter shoots, injures grizzly bear near Fairfield

A hunter shot and wounded a grizzly bear on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, near Freezout Lake Wildlife Management Area near Fairfield.

Another encounter… not at all blaming either the bear or hunter. Just a part of life here now

Or maybe he learned his lesson and will avoid humans now, so he doesn’t take another blast of salt shot to the face. Not everything is worst case scenario

I shot a coyote in the yard with 7 1/2 shot from a 12 ga, modified choke at about 15 yards, first shot rolled him so I hit him again, flopped and dead. Didn't figure it would kill him.

This reminds me of a story of my younger days . We were out bird hunting after school. About 6 of us . Coyote was in the grass in-between us all near the end of the push. Finally the coyote bolts out gets about 40 yards out then starts cutting across all 6 of us at about 40 yards. Multiple guns were emptied before the coyote finally succumbed to the firing squad. Sucker took alot of lead !
