More good news for the fight against CWD. Both Alberta and Saskatchewan, Unis of Alberta and Calgary are starting a partnership and will invest 1.3mil for the research of an oral vaccine/treatment for CWD as well as other research!

“This shared funding agreement has the potential to yield an effective tool to protect our cervid populations across the prairies,” Saskatchewan Environment Minister Warren Kaeding said in a government news release.
“A vaccine could assist in reducing challenges faced with premature fatalities in the animals, as well as offering a reduction in transmission across more than just our two provinces.”
A little late to the party, but at least commitments towards further research and solutions are being made.
