OK, I have not been here in a while, but what the hell is with all the ads?

I log in with Safari and ads up the wazoo.....Thank god for Chrome and Adblock !

Randy actually put a lot of info out there before these started..........they help fund the website.

I guess I did not see the "info"...like I said...thank god for Chrome and adblocker !

I use Mozilla, but I added an addon, Image and Flash blocker, used it for a couple years now, which allows me to right click on any page and choose my setting. I can leave images on but turn the flash off, for example, which helps with those flashing ads or better for the online news article sites that have so much flash on a page that it freezes everything up.

Yep. Love those popups.

There are no pop up allowed to be served on this site. Might want to check your computer for viruses.

Additionally, as we have grown our own organic advertising, you will be seeing a lot fewer of the non-endemic ads that are served as remnants once the insertion order for paid ads is filled.

I do not notice any ads but the banner and sidebar ads. I use Mac with Safari and did not intentionally change any settings so not sure if I visually block out the ads. Maybe has to do with high-level training to not actually hear wife or kids when here at HT. A gift, my friends. A gift.

I don't get them all the time and I haven't seen one in days. Next time I do I'll note what the ad is for seems like I remember them being outdoor themed. I figured they were slipping past you as they try to do.

The problem I'm having is when I browse on my iPhone, it occasionally redirects me to the App Store to purchase a stupid app that coincides with whatever game is being advertised at the top of that page. I don't know what started it but it's been happening for a few weeks now. It's very irritating!!!

Same as Colberjs. The redirect never completes, and unlike Colberjs I hadn't noticed a correlation to anything else on the HuntTalk forums page.

Doesn't affect my browsing on a desktop, but on my phone I seem to get auto redirected to the app store frequently.

Happens to me all the time on I phone. Sometimes it takes me three tries to open a page. Very irritating to say the least. Not sure what causes it I'm pretty tech challenged so could be solved with a setting or something

The iphone redirect thing isn't hunttalk specific, it's a browser virus that safari gets every now and then, and it's annoying as hell.

Obviously an iPhone issue. I have about 3 sites it happens on, HT being one of them.

About 90% of the time I get on here I get my McAfee warning about potentially dangerous content getting blocked. Look at the top of my screenshot. I just wonder if some of the advertisers are breaking the rules. BTW I have good real time protection and the machine is scanned for viruses and malware twice weekly. This is one of the only sites I frequent that kicks up those warnings.

Not sure what the explanation is to the McAfee warnings. I use Trend Micro for all of my security and anti-virus. I have the highest settings possible. I scan/scrub every couple days. I don't get any warnings.

I've had my web guys scan everything on the back end, in search of potential problems. Nothing exists.

Not sure what the answer is.
