Adding an Arca Rail and a spartan gunsmith adapter...am I overthinking this?

Really interested in getting a small/light Arca rail near the balance point of my Christensen Ridgeline FFT to allow me to attach to a tripod. I'd also like to add a Spartan gunsmith stud in the stock as the sling stud adapter is garbage and moves even with double sided tape. The idea of drilling into the stock has me a bit freaked out. Also, I'm worried about changes to the way the gun shoots, etc. Is it an easy process? I don't have a local gunsmith at all, so not really anyone I can take it to. Assuming just mark, measure multiple times then drill and use some 2 part epoxy to hold the items in the stock? Have any of you taken this on? How'd it go?

I've added a pic rail to several stocks, including on a Christensen Ridgeline. It's easy. I'd suggest using a forstner bit for the back side, big enough for your t-nut, and set that in the epoxy. Pretty easy even with minimal mechanical ability.

I have not had any issues.

Edit - to answer your question, yes I use a sling on both.

On another note, I put one temporarily on my nephews Savage to use on his first deer hunt this year and there were issues. It worked for a one day doe hunt, but it clearly would not have worked in many situations. Maybe a longer screw would have resolved, but for this quick hunt it was adequate.

I just finished adding the arca pic and an arca mini to my tikka last night. It’s not bad, just take it slow double check before you drill. Mark everything out and let it sit a day before you drill. Then work through your process again if you get same position then drill.

They make a trinity rail that has Arca, spartan and Pic but I’m not sure that I want a bipod that close to where I’d mount on a tripod. I’d think you’d want to be much closer to center with a tripod.

I have one on the 270 I took on my trip this year. If you planned to strictly use a tripod for shooting I can see mounting it toward the center. I only use it opportunistically so it’s not an issue.

Where did you get the arca mini? Did it come with all hardware?
Also got it from Salmon River. It came with t nuts. I had to modify the one t nut close to the recoil lug. I then got a coupler so I could fit the other hole closer to the two webs. I then used jb weld epoxy to lock everything. I used play dough to cover holes so epoxy didn’t get in screws.
