I was lucky enough this year to draw an ewe RMBS tag with just one preference point. And thankfully I was able to have a successful time this past weekend.
Just a few minutes after pulling up to my camping spot I was able to spot about 20+ sheep feeding in a small basin.
So later that afternoon I hiked mountain. Boy, do I need to get in shape.LOL. I wasn’t able to get close up to the sheep due to them being about 450 yds over a small knoll. And with a storm rolling in I had to start making my way back down. But the views were just amazing up there.
I was also able to spot two decent bulls at the top of this mountain. Although you can’t really seem them in the cell phone pic.
Later that night about 40+ sheep emerged in to the basin again and fed all night.
They were still there in the morning so I hiked back up again, But they had went to bed in some really steep terrain.
Overall it was a really good trip. And September can’t get here soon enough.
