The new 120 Triple Shock isn't in the lastest Barnes manual. I know I can use the existing info for the other 120's, but does the triple shock allow for a bit more Max charge, due to it's reduced bareing (sp) surface ? I've got RL-15 and H-414, but also thinking of Varget. Any suggestions for the 7mm/08?

You might e-mail or call Barnes. That new 120 grainer should be a good performer in your 7mm-08 G46.

I think when the tsx's first came out Barnes was saying to use the same load infor as the XLC's... I'm not sure if they off a 7mm 120 XLC though. Good luck

gunner46,

In the box of your Triple shock's there should be some reload info in there. It states you should use the Regular X bullet load information and add up to 2 grains to get back to same pressures. But if your not sure call Barnes, they're pretty good about giving you info. The reason why they don't say use the XLC info is because it can range a bit higher. Good luck and I'm sure you'll like them. I have in the few cartridges I've loaded them for.

I have the TSX 120's by Lazzeroni that are coated. The coating will make a difference but the 2 gr. rule seams about par with my experience with my STW. At 3827 FPS though the accuracy wasnt quite where I wanted it and I havent had a chance to back off the load yet and retry them. They are extremely expensive so I am thinking just try the non-coated 120gr TSX. The -08 is a smaller case by alot so 2 gr. might be more than it can handle, I'm not sure. Same goes for the 140 gr TSX that I used in my bro's 7mag, it was a 2 gr. diff. The 140's performed flawlessly last hunting season though and are extremely accurate in his rifle. Oh and one orther thing, I also moved to a faster powder in my STW as the powder I was using for 140's was to slow and I wasnt getting effeciency at all.
