6.5 Creedmore or 7mm?

You are correct. Left bullet is a 7mm 168 grain long range accubond. Right bullet is 6.5 140 grain Berger VLD hunting. Both elk were broadside and bullet found on opposite side against the hide

Here is a 160 grain accubond on the far right pulled from against the hide of an elk. This elk was about 50 yards farther than the other two bullets. This 160 grain accubond was started 350fps faster than the other two bullets

I assume 30cal from a 300RUM? Which bullet and grain? Ive seen a few Bergers like that usually a lighter weight caliber bullet. I’m a fan of heavy bullets in whatever bullet is chosen.

Nope. 95 grain VLD from a .243. Not pushing it hard either. That bullet was the last VLD we ever put in an animal. Bergers in my RUM made burger out of whatever they hit. As I used them more, I was less and less satisfied. Still shoot targets with them. mtmuley

That’s what most of my bergers have looked like out of my 6.5x47. It has hammered everything I’ve shot with it but I have found several pieces of lead while eating. Makes a guy think twice about his bullet selection

Just started using the VLD's this year. 2 pass-throughs so far with the VLD's, so I can't say for sure what they look like afterwards, but from the size of the exit holes, I don't think it's anything like what brockel posted.

Yep. 80 grain. That 95 killed antelope well for my kids. After that particular bullet, I just don't have any confidence in them anymore. mtmuley
