H4831 and RL22 are other common options, but I would check the Hodgdon/Alliant online load data and the load book for the bullet manufacturer you are using.

Though I've not reloaded for 300WinMag...the new IMR7977 seems to show some promising numbers. If you can get it RL26 seems to be magic in a pile of cartridges

I have had good luck with IMR 4831 in the 2 300's I own. The Weatherby chambered in 300 win mag I use a 180 grain Hornady SST & the Custom 300(Remington action, Douglas barrel) I use a 200 Grain Accubond. Tried a few different powders
20 yrs ago, I used both H4831 and R22 with the Barnes 180 XBT. Back in the Fall, I played with a new Mesa 300WM and R17/150 TTSX and R23/H4831sc/200 PT. I have a recent, new Bergara B14 300WM that I will also start out with R17/150 TTSX but with R26/ 175 LRX. I will probably work up some loads with the old Standbys of H4350 & H4831 as loads to compare in hotter temps this summer. From what I can read about R26 ( and saw this myself in one .270/160NP) it gets kind of "wonky" around +85 deg and up. For me, my accuracy and pressure went wild. In the cold, good stuff! ha So, I'm always on the lookout for speed/accuracy, but I have to have a pretty Temp stable load or I'll just weird myself out about it, ha.

yup that's how the reloading world has been for the last 10 years...sometimes there are piles of powder and sometimes shelves are empty. You either make do with what you can find or you wait.
Shooter's world powder seem to be pretty good and are usually less per pound but I don't know what's in stock. VIhtavuori is good powder but crazy expensive and hard to get even on a good year.

I have a pound of the 7977 but haven't tried it yet in the 300 win, the h4831sc shot lights out and the case fill was perfect. A guy might be into compressed loads pretty quick with the 7977.
I have had good luck with those new imr enduron powders the little I have tried. I started working up a load with the 4451 in my 243 last year and it looks promising so far, but i have more work to do with it.

I load for two 300WM. One is a Christensen Ridgeline and use RL22 with 165 grain Accubonds. What a fun gun to shoot. It shoots right at 3300 fps and very accurate. The other is an old ruger I load 180 grain partitions and IMR4350 was the best there. Never did try H4831sc though.

H4831 for 180 grain or less.. H1000 for any thing over 180 grain... I have heard good things about rl26

IMR 7828. Only thing I have ever needed.

I've been using IMR4831 for the Barnes 180 TTSX and IMR4350 for the 175 LRX, both show great speed and accuracy. Although I've not personally tried it, RL-26 is another great versatile powder, that some day I would like to try.
