3 decomposed bodies found near remote campsite in western Colorado

Couldnt pull the link up on my computer but the article I read said the three were trying to stay out camping all winter and the cause of death was likely exposure.

All 3 from exposure? Maybe. All three wouldn’t die at same time. Odd because if one was struggling, someone would try to get help. Maybe not but that’s my guess.

Michael Barnes, the Gunnison County coroner, wrote in an email that the three individuals appeared to have begun “long term camping” at a location near Gold Creek Campground in western Colorado in July of 2022. They attempted to stay through the winter, he said, and might have been trying to live there permanently.

“Preliminarily, I suspect the three died of malnutrition and/or exposure sometime during the winter,”

I romped around a few miles from there this past fall, not a place I would have tried to spend the winter.

Jesus… There’s dumb, and then there’s “relying on YouTube to survive in the mountains in winter” dumb. I have no sympathy for the adults (two sisters), the kid was blameless in this, though.
