Has anyone fooled with H1000 in a 243 Winchester? Specifically with 100 grain Hornady interlocks.

Never tried H1000. I use RL16 in my 243 with 80 and 90 grain bullets. With the 80 grain Shock Hammers, it's a max load shooting 3380 fps. I was shooting the 90 ELDX but they've been blowing too big of a hole in the coyotes.

How have the shock hammers been on coyotes?

I used h1000 under 105gr berger hybrids, and 105gr Amax in .243. Shot really well.

If I remember correctly I was getting a little under 3100fps. After about 1800 rounds that started dropping quickly and while it still shot well I rebarreled. If I hadn't stumbled upon a bunch of inexpensive 6 creed factory ammo I would probably go with the .243 again for my next tube and work up a load with H1000 again.

Accurate 4350 is a good option and a bit of a cost savings too.

As Addicting said, RL26!
I've used RL26 with 100gr Sierra SPBT GameKings & 105gr Hornady Match.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m sitting on some H1000 and interlocks both for other loads/rifles. Thought maybe I’d try it with 243s.

RL powders are good to have on hand. When I can find them I’ll get some.

I’ve been having good luck going to the other extreme of the burn charts for powders.

47 grains of H1000 and a 100 grain interlock shot <1” at 100 in 2 different rifles. I need to shoot it at 200 and 300 but I think it is a going be a winner.

No but RL26 is amazing in it. I would think that h1000 wouldn’t be that far behind it.
I got a jug of RL-26 by mistake last year, realised what I'd done and no idea what I'd use it for. No listing for in in my Hornady book, 9th edition.

It works in a ton of cartridges with a heavy for caliber bullet. Google will get you started in load data, it’s been tried in just about everything.

I ran it in a 280ai, 300 Sherman, 7 Mag, 6.5 Creedmoor, 260ai, & 243. All with excellent results about 50-100 fps faster.
