Draw odds for a five week rut hunt for nonresidents. Pretty disgusting imo. No other state can screw things up like Montana can.

Wild that a 5 week firearm rut hunt exists in any western state, resident or non-resident

They are, but if you look at the draw odds, it’s well north of 50% with one point that you can buy at time of application.

How are people with 0 points drawing when there’s people not drawing with 1 point?

Better buy them points because if it becomes OIL you can have something to fight it. I'm sure you'd want to hunt sheep and goats again someday

I definitely do. I'm actually hoping whoever draws that goat tag will find me on this board and reach out. I will gladly go back up there this season....which is better done now than in 18 years when I may hike in but end up life flighting my way out.

I believe 25% of the NR deer and elk tags are set aside for applicants with zero points.

Have they released the sheep, moose, and goat units that are available to NR's.

Probably on there, I just can't find it...their website is sort of a mess.

In the fine print it says.......

"Districts where nonresidents may apply are listed on the moose, bighorn sheep and mountain
goat nonresident worksheet, but may change when final quotas are set in June."

This will be my 41st year I believe...self induced reduction in draw odds moving out of Montana. Got the other 2 while I was resident, so can't complain.

MSG usually come out a bit after the DEA regs, the deadline isn't until May 1 usually

The MSG regs are already out but nobody can seem to find the non resident units allowed for the big 3 anywhere. It states it's on a worksheet which is nowhere to be found that I can see. Love the ENHANCED site! Lol
