Was fortunate to draw the tag in the random pool for a good unit this year along with 3 first timers. We arrived Saturday morning and did a little scouting on the way to where we were staying, seeing several good bucks. After cleaning up and eating we decided to do an evening hunt.
One guy punched his tag on about a 70" er. The next day one of the other guys tagged a great buck that doesnt have much length, but a ton of mass and prongs pushing 6".
Later Sunday afternoon me and my partner spotted this buck along with about 10 does and 2 other smaller bucks. We snuck up the back of a raised 2 track and got with in 200 yards of him and I WHIFFED bigtime. We caught up with him about 1.5 miles and 2 hours later. I anchored him at 248 yards with the 6.5 creedmore. My biggest pronghorn to date. The pack out was rough but worth it. The 4th guy tagged out Monday afternoon on a similar sized buck also. Totaled about 17.5 miles of walking in 2.5 days.
