2017 Nevada Archery Mule Deer - Day by Day version

Sorry for the delay in posting these Day-by-Day hunts from this season. Just wrapped up an eighteen day trip that brought us to a total of 68 days on the road this season.

This is a Nevada archery mule deer hunt on an easy-to-draw tag. Thanks to NV Longbow for joining us.

Things didn't take long to get serious on this hunt. Best to range critters once they move. Or, work on my "dead reckoning" so things are dead when I release the arrow.

I've went to Kansas the past few trips and one of the things that I always smile about in regards to camp is the crickets, sounds like Nevada is no different. Hunting Kansas public ground whitetails has been great, but it's about time I figure out the Nevada system and attempt to put an arrow in muley. If you think Idaho drivers are bad, go through Wichita without a single curse word and you'll be labeled a saint. Good luck with the rest of your season(s)!

I have to say, I absolutly love this day-by-day format of hunting show. In recent years, I have almost entirely shut off the more popular style of shows because of their sameness. They travel from state to state greeted by different outfitters that have places scouted, spots picked, and animals all but killed. While I am sure that most (at least some) of these famous hunters are good outdoorsman, the style of hunting seems to emphasize the harvest of the animal more than the adventure of the hunt. It also paints an unrealistic picture of what hunting is for most of us normal guys.
In more recent years, shows like Randy's Fresh tracks and other public land, DIY style hunts have become the only ones that I truly enjoy and look forward too. There is so much fresh information shared on these type of shows from gear to hunting techniques I feel there is actual value in tuning in. With that said, 22 minutes could never help you see all that takes place in an entire week. I feel as if these day-to-day hunts are a natural progression for those of us that want to learn about the pursuit of game.
