Season is finally open and it is off to a very rocky start.
This is the short version.
Day one Aug 17th I got the cops called on me for being on what somebody considered their county road.
Day two Aug 18th Stopped and talked to one of the landowners I have permission from and his dog bit my hand. I can barely hold my bow now. I went out anyway and found the tank they were hitting 5 days ago is dry. So I went back to see my new adoring fan club, who is watching me from a distance as I type this. This buck might be worth all the effort though, I might be able to get a picture if they keep working this direction. Or even better slip him a dirt nap dart. I just wish I would of gotten out the go pro for yesterdays excitement, from now on Im filming all interactions, even if this guy is the president of the Van Franke fan club.

Sounds exciting, good luck on the rest of the season, it will be over fast, my tag isn't good till the 10 sept, you got a head start..... I should hunt CO antelope early.....

Made it to WY over the weekend, although nothing died we had a good time and got in some good scouting. We are leaving tomorrow and will spend the 7th 8th and 9th there. Here are some pics from last weekend. Some aren't the greatest photos but the bucks are worth looking at.

You have a buck in those pics that would already be dead if I had a tag. Size doesn't matter in some instances. It would be a bummer of a birth mark to have a flopped over horn like that.

Well Grace shot her buck on the 9th and I shot mine on the 16th, unfortunately Fin I couldn't get access to the freak buck or the freak buck you'll see in these pics, Here they are.
