Took a trip with a friend to hunt wild hogs in California a few days ago.We had a great two day hunt and killed our first razorbacks.Had a brief encounter with a large boar and couldn't close the deal,so had to settle for a younger male(ground picture), and my partner harvested a large sow. Many thanks to to the California Hunttalkers that offered contacts and special thanks to BH for steering us to our landing point.DSCN7028.jpg

Way to get it done. Hope you guys had a great trip and hope after your short visit to CA you realize how lucky you are to live where you do.

BigHouse- Yeah,I'm not going to crack on California too much,Lord knows they get their share of smack from Montanans, but honestly when we drove down through pea soup smog in the Sacramento area there were some choice words flying about the cab.Like anywhere you take the good with the bad.Made us feel REAL thankful for Montana.

T-Bone- This was a guided hunt so there were outfitter fees along with standard non-res costs.I use the "guided" hunt loosely.Since we had never even laid eyes on hogs before,or hunted this part of California there needed a quick learning curve. In no time we were off on our own meeting the guide at days end.It was pretty funny, the guide was flabbergasted at two hunters who knew how to look out for themselves, find critters, even simply walk three miles down a canyon.Guess there are quite a few urbanites who can pull a trigger and not much else.:D

Huntman-A little slow- down in work this winter...good for fishing, designing next house, and a hunting trip. Not complaining too much.

Wow, that looks like fun. Sure beats hammering nails this time of year. Tell SDG to sign up and start telling his stories. Congrats to both of you.
