NM...no wonder. Probably had some landowner vouchers to go with. caveat emptor in New Mexico

Sounds like the guy was just a all around winner, really surprised the case got dropped. It’s why you have to check references if your going to drop that kinda cash. Hopefully he takes the guy to civil court.

Time to dissolve unit wide tags...that'll fix part of the problem!
How would that solve anything relating to the poorly written article?

UW tags are what sportsmen should like to see landowners get in NM. It opens up opportunity to hunt that private ground that would be locked up if it was RO.

I think the guy is now suing for defamation....lol
Outlaws just need to wait a couple years & the case will be dropped here. G&F will drop the ball....... you get your outfitters & guide license back . Business as usual.

7 hunters, 18k, NM??.....caveat emptor indeed. Like to hear the entire story.

How would UW tags help gain access to private ground?

If the landowner accepts UW tags they have to open up that ground to the general public. It is nonnegotiable.
“Unit-wide” shall mean a ranch whose ARC has selected the unit-wide hunting option as defined on their agreement and received a unit-wide authorization(s) for the current license year. The unit-wide selection allows hunters who have a unit-wide license from the ranch to hunt any legally accessible public lands, other unit- wide ranches, and other private land with written permission within the GMU as well as allows any other licensed elk hunter with either a public draw license or a unit-wide elk license access to the unit-wide ranch.

If you are in UW program then the ranch is supposed to be open to ALL hunters and you can hunt the public lands in unit. Supposed to be....
RO is deeded lands only.

Good to know, thanks!
