My previous Samsung phone sits in a drawer. It's still a highly loaded device, just not connected with a cell plan now. I can't help but think it ought to be kept charged & in my truck. What are some creative ideas you guys have found as a reason to keep this phone handy?
Stay informed on what hoot owl restrictions are in force & where algal bloom advisories may be in place this late in the season.
And if you are inclined to hike 6-8 miles in to reach some of the high mountain lakes in the region, you might find it more rewarding than fishing along the road...
Phone battery life can be poor with some OnX use, tracking, cold or very cold temperatures, and long days afield. Relying solely on any phone, without backup power, is just not as reliable a way to go while out in the mountains, in my experience.
Didn't know him personally, but he was the guiding source for most of my learnings & gear selection & practices for shooting Sharps rifles. Few were at his level in his craft.
Avs struggled all year against the Jets. But the Avs talent is just unreal and I sure wouldn't bet against them......

For hunting in moderate to cold temps, these new synthetics in layers have the edge for MT hunting. Colder than that, same gear, just better base layer.
But in near or sub-zero conditions, especially when snowblowing for an hour or 2, or icefishing all day, I'm mostly choosing good wool...
In a mythical world I would run, those people would be required to pay the costs of upkeep of that cub until it can be successfully released to the wild.
Think about it....with people comes all the issues that cause problems in this country. I'd way sooner deal with wicked weather than deal with humans. That's the best state.
I assume they're still making Steiners. Couldn't swing that other "S" brand when I was younger. But it's 20 years later, and I can afford them now.....but no need. Am happy with German engineering.
