    Idaho Draw Results 2022

    I’ve been out in unit 52 last few weekends. Seen (3) bull moose, (2) mule deer bucks and lots of antelope, maybe one good buck. Ain’t seen any Elk yet. I think I’m too low and need to get higher elevation. Going to focus on the NW corner of the unit to nail down these Elk this week.

    My How To: Flying Cross Country with Elk Meat

    I sent my wife with moose meat (steak, summer salami, jerk) to the airport so she could see the in-laws. The security guys stoped her. She showed them the meat and the pics of the moose. They said that the coolest thing the had seen all week and let here go.

    Tape at the end of barrel?

    I was taught to always use tape on my muzzleloader barrel. I’ve seen muzzleloaders foul and not shoot due to hiking in heavy rain. We saw a bear and my gun fired, his did not. I’ve not done this with any of my rifles Not a bad idea for a rainy, snowy, muddy day. Cheap insurance

    I drew a bull elk tag for unit 52 & I drew a Buck tag for unit 54 this year Feeling better about the deer hunt than the elk hunt. The elk hunt is in August, hot as hell. I have not spent time in either unit. 54 sounds great for deer! 52 sounds ok for elk!
