    Single Bevel Broadhead

I personally have lost multiple animals due to lack of blood trail and have been on tracks where we lost blood or were on our hands and knees for hours praying for another drop. That was with decent sized cut too. I don't buy into the logic that all things equal, a 1.125" or less slit will put...

    Single Bevel Broadhead

Agree for the most part. We overthink it for sure. Each setup has it's pluses and minuses. It seems super complicated but the reality is arrows/broadheads are kind of like the vehicle market. There are thousands of different vehicle configurations because there's not a "wrong" solution. If you...

    Single Bevel Broadhead

Great advice here. The difficult thing with the majority of the designs are there is they they are long and unvented. That equals a lot of surface area and is the primary reason I stick away from them. These all have decent cut sizes as well.

    Single Bevel Broadhead

This is terrible advice.. If they add 200 grains to the front of that arrow he'll most likely be underspined. Bad idea. No reason to add this much weight unless your hunting fixed distances at a feeder.

    Annihilator Broadheads

Depending on your specs - I'd recommend the XL version. The reg is a little small in my opinion. I've got some but haven't shot anything with them yet. To be honest - a Montec is a good head. Not a ton to be gained here outside of a little durability. A Montec will kill the same as an...

All in all - I would not burn a point on it. If you really want a tag you could do it first choice - but I'm not sure about that either. To me it's a good backup plan. If you really just want to elk hunt I'd get the reduced price cow tag.

I ended up missing a 5pt due to range error and stupidity. Shot right under him. Should have waited as I would have got a better shot. Then called in a 6x5 but didn't get a shot, then shot another 5pt bull twice (yep twice) and lost him because I was so close to private and he jumped the fence...

The 5pt or less on one side restriction is odd. Overall a tough archery tag to fill for someone with limited elk experience I'd say. Can't speak for rifle. Great for someone with mobility issues as getting around is easy.

You bet man. I drew the tag on my second choice and hunted it for a week. Putting in 2nd choice again this year. The unit is very sparse for public access - some of the worst I've had. However, the archery hunting was good when I was there.

Saddle hunting??? Talk me into it.

For a person getting into hunting I think it's a great option. I moved from out west to KY and was forced into a tree for the first time. For me, hunting public land it's a great system. I haven't found a tree that I wanted to hunt that I couldn't. For me I just wanted a one and done system.

    Wyoming 117 Hunt

I drew a 117-2 tag this year. I'd love to pick your brain on the unit.
