Depends on your budget. A bit higher budget the Tikka would be my choice. Lower budget Ruger American all day. Others have said it but find an option that offers a bit shorter stock or an adjustable stock option that can grow with a kid.
I am a fan of Boyd's stocks. Good laminate stocks with lots of options. Pillar and glass bedding for best accuracy. Laminate does get kind of heavy thought.
