Ice Fishing Shelter for base camp

Where we usually hunt it would get down into the 20's at night. We used a old 12x14 boy scout tent that leaked a little when it did rain. The price for the Eskimo was way cheaper than a outfitter tent and can use it for ice fishing as well. I guess we'll find out how it performs for us. The...

Ice Fishing Shelter for base camp

I was anticipating the "sauna" effect but prolly won't be there much during the day. The windows can be opened up for ventilation. Maybe put a white tarp over the top to reflect the sun and more waterproof.

Ice Fishing Shelter for base camp

A couple years ago some buds of mine used their INSULATED ice fishing shelters for base camp. So, I decided to purchase one myself for next trip out west. I got the Eskimo 8x16 for my son & I. Plenty of room for two (2) large cots and gear. Both brands have various sizes. The Otter is a 8x8 and...

    Wyoming Antelope Application Choices

Stream trout fishing out west is a little different than lake fishing here in the Midwest. Yes, there is a lot of public access out west but most of it is not exactly "free". Maybe so for residents but most NR hunters stand little chance of gaining access to public without a large number of...

    Wyoming Antelope Application Choices

In my defense, I was referring to "hunting" in general .... no specific state or species. And as far as that goes you can include "fishing" as well. So much emphasis has been put on what a person has to have to enjoy the sport. Expensive high end firearms, clothing, lodging, electronics, etc...

    Wyoming Antelope Application Choices

Personally I'm sad to see hunting has become more of a rich mans sport.

    Wyoming Antelope Application Choices

Why does Wyoming even bother to have 1st, 2nd, & 3rd choice for NR Antelope? If you don't pull a tag on first go-round you're basically SOL.

Porqupine eating brake hoses and tires

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but .... Has anyone had an experience at their camp where porcupine will come in and chew up their vehicles brake hoses and tires? I was in the Black Hills (South Dakota) in a camp area one time and came across someone who talked about having their...

Deeded land and Leased Public Land

I guess all I was asking is if I look at a map and see blue (state) or orange (blm) that I can assume that it is huntable.
