unfortunate but it’s absolute trash. Filtering is garbage. Difficult to navigate, map view (default) is trash.
Sticking to GoHunt for research
Onx for maps (this is where Onx is great, though I have issues with app lagging and crashing in offline mode on multi day hunts)
Happy to share. The neck on this bull was SWOLE (I think that’s the term kids use these days 😂) I got over 20lbs of neck meat alone. Those roasts come out great after 5hr in pressure cooker (pulled pork style)
Got everything what I think was worth trimming/pick off it
Long delay in reply but here it is.
Here’s the bull that totaled 320lbs final packout weight (including the head/antlers)
Edit: adding full weights breakouts it’s the 3rd bull in this list(Other is rib meat trimmings, neck meat, just all trims basically etc)
Im a little OCD when it comes to numbers and spreadsheets so I keep track of my animals (didn’t do it first year I started hunting)
I harvest and pack out all quarters bone-in 🍖(cut shank knuckle up), trim away as much neck meat as possible (sometimes taken bone-in), heart, liver, and all the...
Thanks. I had an opportunity to talk to number of prior tag holders already. Sounds very encouraging to say the least. Super excited to get out n have a great hunt during the rut.
Unsuccessful in Gen S w/ 4pp
But im actually somewhat relieved I didn’t draw as I drew 1% Archery elk tag in NM and am waiting if my 4pp in CO were enough for GMU i put in for.
So would have made it for a very busy schedule
Bringing this thread back up.
I was lucky and drew unit 34 archery (2nd) tag for 2024 🙌🙌
Already talking to prior tag holders and just found this thread. Hopefully people are willing to talk on here in DMs or phone call? I’ll hit up few members on here who seem active.
Super excited for...
I have twice for their Pointer shotgun. Don’t remember exact timeframe (i think it was between seasons so nonissue for me). But I do remember it being fairly quick.
Was very happy as they were friendly and quick to help answer questions/send a label/etc. no complaints.
Thanks. I did end up getting everything I could possibly need for 2023 season. I ended up putting Ace in the Hole from Williams with piccatiny rail and put a scope on it. Scope will be for load development and for states that allow them. But easy enough to pop scope off and use open sights...
that was my thinking too, but as you just checked and few others pointed out, looks like if i'm lucky in random i'll loose my points. which is fine but wanted to be sure.
I have a quick question for you WY application pros. I was talking to another member on here and it came up that we both have different understanding of how WY random draw works. So hoping someone can help clarify. Thanks
WY GEN elk tag (or any LE tag in WY i guess) lets say Elk Gen tag will...
yea, not sure what few years ago is 3 or 10 :) but now R-value, just like ISO or EN ratings on sleeping bags, its all via 3rd independent party. don't quote me on this as there may be more than 1 lab that does these tests, but they all suppose to follow exact same standards to give our R...
they are done by an independent lab, kind of like wear rating on a tire. manufacturers ultimately pay 3rd party lab to get these done, in exact same way.
so yes R-Value are a real thing and one should look at them closely.
7.0 and 6.2 R values as you listed, both would be considered 4...
i will by applying but for high demand/low odds units. its just a lottery ticket at this point. but if i get lucky and draw, i'll be happy to give up any hunts in home state of CO to go on a quality NM hunt.
what are the chances of drawing 2 tags with 0.1% odds :)
can you point to more info on this? i was surprised to read this. hope it's not the case?
i get it that people sometimes need to turn in their tags, but getting points and money back is crazy.
do you know if this applies to 1st choice only or any Res demand as a whole?
so if i apply for PP(1st choice) and some low demand Res unit as 2nd choice, will my 2nd or 3rd or 4th choices count as part of that 65% before allowing NonRes to go over 35%? thnx
