    .22 Pistol Recommendation

Another vote for the Ruger Mk IV. I have the 22/45 with the lite barrel. Tons of fun little upgrades you can do with them if you want down the line with items from tacsol and volquartsen. Great suppressed or without.

    Shakeout / Scout Hunt

This looks like it will shape up to be a great adventure this week for you. Sounds like you are getting into elk and that's half the battle. As far as the bull goes, it sounds like he is content to respond to you and let you know where he is but won't commit to coming into cow calls from...

Oh it was in jest for certain. If he ever stops being sarcastic or making fun of me I'll know he has lost interest.

So here he is. Best photos I could do solo. Also, don't mind the crappy photo touch ups to get rid of the tongue hanging out and the exit wound. 😉

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

I get a text from my husband asking if I've seen anything else out there that day day besides antelope. I'd been giving him a play by play all morning.

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

Ok so a few bucks have come in or close now. This might not be the nursery. I think the bucks just waited to water until it got hot in the afternoon in this spot. A while passes and at around 4pm I spot a buck and 2 does out my right window. Cows are blocking my view for a little bit so I...

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

A while later as I peaking out my back window I see a big buck scoping out the water hole from the hill behind me. Again and again I check on him and he just stays on top of the hill scoping out the situation- very wary but likely thirsty. I think a whole hour passed before he slowly circled...

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

I stew in my self misery for a while before doing an after action in my head on what I did wrong. I deserved to miss that buck. I needed to focus on the following to be successful on my next opportunity. Be more alert aand watch your surroundings. Anything can come in any anytime. The cows...

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

And then suddenly a buck! A good buck! I had been ranging spots around the water all morning and he walked in at a 50 yard spot. I'll admit I should have been more alert and could have seen him approach if I had been peaking out my side windows occasionally like I should have. He startled me and...

    A WY Pronghorn Tale

The sun is starting to get higher in the sky. It is about 11am. Now the cows are starting to arrive. They hang out drinking farting and doing cow stuff. I start to think that maybe the antelope won't come in with the cows there. I spook them at first by telling them to "git!" But this is thier...
