Thanks, and yes it does! On top of that, seeing NO bulls for several straight days makes you appreciate it when you see just one, let alone so many. I still haven't shot an elk yet or even pulled my own tag yet. So far it's just been me trying to find them for my kids.
When you hear Randy talk...
Makes good sense. I have a revolver and a rifle. My rifle is getting threaded at the shop now, but my revolver is collecting dust.
I plan to use it for grouse while hunting elk. We used my revolver, but the rifle shoots better.
I was about to start a new thread with a novel idea, but this one came up. I also discovered I actually posted on it already. Obviously, I like to learn my lessons at least two times.
Anyway, good to see that people actually get picked. I now have three (3) sons (the youngest turns 12 in March)...
There were a few outfitters this year asking for high-point holders to share their points so they could get more clients in the General unit they hunt out of. In exchange, they were offering deals on outfitted hunts.

Final hunt recap post, I promise. I really didn't expect it to be this long, sorry...
We found an excellent glassing spot, but it wasn't where I wanted to be. We sat an hour, made notes for the next time, made a fire and moved on since we needed water anyway. We made our way to one of the...
We had a nine (9) day rest period in between this hunt and my drive to California to drop my son off for A-School with the USCG and fly back. We added two (2) days to the drive since Wyoming was only 6 hours out of the way. We drove straight through from Alabama to the trailhead by driving in...
This stalk was blown due to attempting to beat the thermals. We thought we could beat them by side-hilling into the elk bedding area with a strong enough prevailing wind, but the elk were smarter than this.
We found another glassing knob that was below the areas we wanted to look at. Typically...
The second to the last day of the hunt ended up without seeing anything in the morning, but the evening went well. We saw a herd of six with one bull in there 1.5 miles from us on the upper 2/3 of a slope located behind another ridge which the top was just below our ability to see the elk bed...
