Definitely if the dents don’t bother you. I’d work on trying to repair them over time.
I apply a similar methodology to my vehicles. Buy them new and take good care of them, put 150K on them in 10 years, and then sell them private party before any expensive repairs.
It’s a decent strategy...
Saw lots of guys out after sage grouse this fall. We were antelope hunting and almost everyone that stopped to talk wanted to know if we’d seen any birds. Could have easily ground swatted a couple of limits driving around. Maybe figure out what kind of accommodations you want and go from there.
He’s a good deer. I’d shoot him and happily fork over the cash for a shoulder mount. That side profile makes it look like he might have a g4 on that left side. If that’s the case, plus the kicker on that side, he’ll be in the 130s somewhere. Ground check him for us please. Good luck!

Congrats, you’re doing it right. Thanks for sharing. My oldest turned 10 two short years ago. We were just having those same experiences. He’s a different hunter already - wish I could slow it down.
To your point, as my mom often said, life is what you make it.
Make extra sure the shot flies true and locate a guy with a tracking dog in your area for additional insurance. I’ll be out in the rain the next several days as well. Good luck.
Definitely birds in the UP. A bit less pressure up there too. Bird numbers can vary year to year and in response to pressure and habitat quality.

Sorry, can’t speak to the equipment. We just use a cheap Caldwell. But to your original question #2, I wouldn’t take a kid hunting without a tripod. Good luck!
We hit northern WI last weekend and found a few birds. There were a few more leaves on the trees this year than last. Numbers seemed OK. Although I’d probably follow @TheGreek and head to MN and leave WI alone.
I had the gun jam and missed a pretty good opportunity. He flew off in to some...
We just did 2 days in northern WI. Basically two guys got 3 birds in two days. I think our count was getting close to 20/day by a similar definition of a flush. No such thing as a gimme, but I deferred to my brother on a gimme and he missed - shoulda been 4 birds.
The two I got were...
Not trying to convince anyone it’s the hardest job. Although, as I said, teaching isn’t what most people think it is.
I’ve stood in over a foot of water and thrown 8 foot symons forms out of an 8 foot hole during a Wisconsin summer - it was 90 degrees. Teaching is a hard job. Got any other...
