Yeah it was another round of the same failed ideas that we as residents have rejected.
I love how they never threw out the idea of further reductions to NR hunters. But they want us residents to sacrifice.
So the last week has found me working hard on this project. To date I have over 200 members in my Facebook group. 160+ people have taken the survey. Over 20 local businesses signed a petition to keep this access open and an approximate additional 90 signatures.
Please take the survey located...
I have always considered hunter apathy to be one of our biggest issues. Please help support this project. We have an opportunity here to save 10,000+ acres of access. Of all the forums where this has been posted, this would have been the one forum where I suspected the greatest traffic.
Thanks...
Hey all, I am spearheading a group in order to try and save access to 10,000+ acres to prime deer and elk hunting lands near Rifle. Over the years countless people have hunted this property.
Please consider joining the Roan Area Access Project on Facebook found here...
Fellow Sportsmen,
I am spear heading an effort to maintain public access to over 10,000 acres of prime deer and elk hunting in NW Colorado near Rifle. This property has long been open to public access as the prior land owner, EnCana Oil and Gas would lease the hunting rights to the CPW. A...
There is nothing more valuable than having boots on the ground. I always suggest that a new hunter/elk hunter pick a place and just keep going back. The more times yo go back the better the hunting gets. The more you learn etc.
What did you not like about Idaho? It sounds like you hit a smoker...
So what you are celebrating as a good thing is this... In a relatively poor country with little economic prosperity. You are happy that wealthy people from foreign countries came in and bought huge land masses of private land and kicked off the resident hunters, farmers and ranchers.
Just want...
As for mental health resources. Our system is completely broken. In a longer post I pointed out the issue that we face... We have had students caught in the school doing meth. They get arrested and taken off to youth services, in less than 24 hours they have a court hearing and the youth...
It was stated that teacher do not want to CC... As a response, yes most would not want to, but in every school I have worked there are a couple who shoot regularly, a couple who train and a couple if given the option would do it in a heart beat. As a teacher, I would love the option. Does not...
Ok so lets talk about prevention. We all know that mental health is the single underlying factor in all mass murder situations. So what can be done... I will not venture down the gun ban path at all. Simply put our country can not keep entire groups of people out, how are they going to keep guns...
Lots has been hashed out here, and reading the comments they just keep circling back around. Working in schools for 20 years now, I can make a few points.
We know that in any mass shooting, when the shooter is met with armed resistance they are, at the very least slowed down. There is no doubt...
There is no answer. Sorry but there will never be an answer. No gun laws, no amount of mental health, nothing will prevent the sickest individuals from doing this... Sorry but it does not matter the weapon type... No laws will prevent it. It is the down side of freedom. With freedom comes risk...
The best idea is to get rid of the points schemes all together. For those with points, let the points increase thier odds until they draw out and get back to random draw.
Then if you wanted a system to spread the out those who are lucky and get tags, have a predefined waiting period for that...
It is about controlling Crowding. They do not want the bear hunters adding to the crowding issue. Instead they want a system where the original bear license can be controlled. We also do not want "unlimited" bear tags. Going completely unlimited would give the anti hunters in the state a great...
Yeah... I might have to show up and put the old hammer down.
Oak, any word on the properties in Unit 22? There have been lots of rumors, and when I call i always here the CPW is working on it. It seems like the the CPW could really use the help of other organizations when trying to figure out...
I hunt W a lot and will shoot you a PM.
But yes you have a chance with 0 points in the special. The random not so much. 1 point is way better. Also be aware that the special deer is up over $600 now. A lot of money.
BTW I am a shop teacher in Colorado.
