    Extra Stupid Window Stickers

Was behind a guy at an off ramp last weekend. He had an entire pallet of laminate flooring in the bed of his 1/2. It was resting on the bump stops. Noticed not a single strap on anything and the tailgate down. Busy intersection and he punches it. Luckily I stayed way back because I had some...

Pink camo, #dadbodhunter, and a whole lotta stupid!

Valid and world-class advice. My experience is people have a much lower threshold for off-putting experienced with wild game. The same folks that will chew on a gristly cheap beef steak will complain about chewy elk steak. Although I will say that they are not deserving of my elk, they are...

    Upland hunting hearing protection

Surefire EP4. Amazing for under $20. You can still hear and I’ve had a couple of two box days limiting on doves and no ear ringing. On hunts where I really need to hear but need good protection (mostly waterfowl), I use Walker’s Game Ear Razor Pro Digital. The digital does a really good job...

The best laid palns of mice and men are still subject to divine intervention......2024 edition

Grandma fried slices of mush in bacon grease and served it with syrup. I always assumed the sausages at a lot of the German restaurants came from Claus. Super cool place.

The best laid palns of mice and men are still subject to divine intervention......2024 edition

I’ve been in Indiana my entire 41 years and the Indy-area for the last 20. Also from a very German family. Any experience with Claus’ sausage? http://www.clausgermansausageandmeats.com/

    What's on the smoker today?

My favorite unique duck dishes have been basement duck prosciutto, duck bacon, and duck teriyaki jerky. Of course my favorite is skin on, grilled medium with horseradish like I’m eating steak.

    What's on the smoker today?

Shoot 100 and between two people you look for new ways to eat them. I’ve enjoyed oiled, salted, skewered, and hot grilled. There used to be a Brazilian steakhouse I liked and they had a sword of chicken hearts that I loved. Tried to repeat that with dove and it was very good. But the sausage is...

    What's on the smoker today?

I put it in the freezer for 30min before I diced to so it was easier to dice. Then I laid it out on foil and left in uncovered in the fridge for 3 days. That hardened the outside and dried it down a little so it stayed together during mixing. Which I did by hand. Cream cheese will separate and...

    What's on the smoker today?

Last project. Trail bologna. Never heard of it but apparently it’s a lot like summer sausage but different. Why not give it a try. Bought the LEM kit that did 20lbs. Did 10lb plain but couldn’t leave it be so I cleaned the jalapeños out of garden and bought a pound of cheese curds. Added a...

    What's on the smoker today?

Next up, heading on an upland hunt and needed to clean the freezer out. Also wanted some road trip food. Who doesn’t love a dove jalapeño popper? But not exactly road food. Solution? Dove popper sausage. 4.5lb dove and pheasant breast. 3lb bacon. 1lb cubed cream cheese. 1lb jalapeños. Hog...

    What's on the smoker today?

Had a busy week making things up for a few hard weeks of hunting. First up, classic pulled pork. Finally tried Chud’s foil boat method for the wrap. Absolutely loved it! Hate wrapping. But this was awesome. Crispy bark, amazing render on fat cap, juicy meat, amazing pull.

    My biggest/longest road trip yet.

This thread, the double desert bulls, and Ibex thread have really pumped me up for my personal hunting season. Keep up the great posts!

All from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Mostly rum and rum drinks. And their excellent local beer.

    Weekend Libations

Both in Banff. One is a classic. The other is some local thing from Banff Brewing. Think it had some citrus in it.

What are you guys paying for gas?

SE Indiana. Not convinced it wasn’t a mistake. Cheapest gas I have bought in years.
