Hey all, looking to get some insight from KS residents or other NR hunters. I'm heading to Kansas for an archery deer hunt Nov 4-11, looking for a spot to set up my tent to camp. Going into this totally blind having never set foot in the state, just wanted to try something new before I get too...
Boots are at the top of the list for me. After that make sure you have a good base layering system. As far as camo, I would just use whatever you already have. A decent spotting scope is nice to have but you probably won't want to carry it around all day.
Reviving this thread to see if any nonresidents who are familiar with Kansas can tell me if I'm reading this right since the application deadline is coming up. My goal is to hunt Kansas archery November '23 and it looks like I have the option of buying a preference point for next year, as long...
Same question for Deer B, is there a date that remaining licenses will be up for grabs after the surplus list period? It seems like FWP would usually email or post a list on their website with quantities of remaining tags? Or can you only get them through the drawing and surplus now?
How long will it be until some little kid gets trampled by a horse or run over by a pickup in the mad dash opening? I like looking for sheds but good grief I can't believe this is people's idea of fun. Almost as silly as those Black Friday shoppers...
Decided to burn my 3 points on the 900 permit after the last 2 years while archery hunting in the permit area we called in bulls the first morning and couldn't do anything about it.
Anybody refinance their home mortgage recently or in the past? With rates staying low we are seriously considering it at the moment. I went through a preliminary process of seeking quotes on rates, terms, etc. online and I'm getting a rate quote that almost seems to good to be true with no...
Another year, another point. Pretty young in the game though so I can't complain. Although I consider myself to be in the "I really didn't want to draw this year either" category for numerous reasons - want horses first, just had a baby, etc. etc. I was still hoping just maybe. I can't imagine...
Applied for permits and bought deer, elk and turkey tag March 21st. I was able to print out my hunting license but received the same notification that my kill tags would be mailed to me. Still nothing today, on opening day of turkey season. I understand the Covid situation is an impossible...
+1 vote for Letterkenny, especially anyone from Canada or the Great Lakes region or dairy farmers. A little vulgar at times but excellent quick witted country humor.
To the OP: Is this the recipe you used? https://www.petersenshunting.com/editorial/hunting-recipe-braised-venison-shanks-garlic/272642
Glad I found this thread as I was about to start a new one. I need help. I tried an osso bucco recipe from MeatEater this weekend on my antelope shanks, and they...
The 2020 regs show $9 for elk permit - drawing only? Unless $5 is just for the application and the other $4???
I figured showing my application without sheep & goat would get some questions. I don't know what it is, they just don't interest me like a moose hunt does.
*Edited to add I can't...
Why does it always have to be confusing. The $ shown for deer and elk permits do not match what is shown in this year's regs? I should have an application cost of $5 deer, $9 elk and $10 moose. It only shows $4 for elk? And then there is a line item for "Application Fee" for $20 at the bottom...
