To add just one comment on this regretful post. I’ve lived out west for 12 years now and been a long time lurker of this forum. I’m obviously not a big time poster but I read a ton throughout the year.
This forum is very influencing whether yall know it or not, I have probably gathered my...
Listen I am using this “anonymous forum” just to open a discussion. I have never once shamed anyone to their face or on a forum over what they shoot. This post was just to spur conversation. I shot countless Whitetail spikes and forkys in my youth back in Alabama and every one of them was a...
That’s the point of my post, I never have and due to my hate for confrontation I never will. I was just more so curious if any of yall had ever had that conversation before and how it went. I always keep my thoughts to myself, congratulate them hard and offer to pack meat regardless of the...
I’ve got a friend who’s “in it for the meat only”, and that’s fine to me. If you depend on wild game for your family every year go for it.
I personally don’t, I ate my deer tag this year and I had seen probably 10 or so forkys. Could’ve backed my truck up and loaded one whole he was so stupid...
Thank you sir! I’m super proud of him and always will be. Didn’t get tape on him before I dropped him off at the Taxidermist. I was just googling and this old thread popped up, very interesting opinions from everyone.
Im not a seasoned elk hunter by any means, so im just curious if he’d fall...
Reviving this old thread, I just shot my first bull last week. He’s not a giant but he’s a trophy to me and that will never change. I’m just curious if he’s considered a raghorn by you more seasoned elk hunters. He’s definitely not long or very wide, but he’s a 6x6, dark horns. I’m not sure he’s...
Nice bucks! Were you stalking solo holding the decoy in front of you or did you have some help holding the decoy? I only ask because I’m gonna be solo the majority of my outings. Just curious if it makes it difficult holding bow and decoy together.
As a Coloradan, good Antelope opportunities with a rifle are kind of hard to draw and take some points. So while I'm building I've decided I want to get good at stalking them during the OTC Archery season. I've already got a spot I've been to before, it was my first time stalking with a bow last...
I believe my uncle will be giving a quick recap of his sheep hunt at the banquet because the tag is going to go to auction the next few years. He shot a 180" tank out on the Purgatoire Canyon that'll be mounted up for everybody to see.
Hello point creep! I'm all for opportunity and I know buying a mandatory hunting license as a nonresident sucks even if you're just getting points, but Colorado can't make it this easy or we will be absolutely flooded with point creep in the coming years. As a resident I have yearly deer options...
I get what you're saying, in the heat of the moment a security guard may not be able to react in enough time to save more lives. BUT, having multiple armed guards is at least a deterrent in the planning of an attack on a specific venue.
But regarding the school shootings only, these cowards...
I will say that the Sarvis Creek Wilderness is a hell hole of blown down timber that takes up the majority of unit 15. I've poked around in there with a bow for Elk, I'm not sure how conducive to rifle deer hunting it would be unless you found a meadow within the maze of blow down and sat on it...
If I'm understanding this right you can get two apps for Elk and Pronghorn out of 1 license but because of dates and app periods I would assume you couldn't get Elk, Pronghorn, and Deer twice on 1 license correct? It would only work for one of the app periods
Right, 116 is the road I mentioned that you eventually dead end into private when you head North. But if you look on OnXmaps you can walk all the way up to that big western portion of BLM. If you head north up those oil roads and drive as far as you can until you have to park, you can hoof it up...
I took a solo trip up to 113 this past October with a Type 1 tag. I got there on a Thursday the 3rd week of the season and literally had the unit to myself, I couldn't believe it.
There is a massive patch of BLM on the western portion of the unit that is inaccessible by road but you can walk...
