Nice rifle for a teenager to pass down

Give him some reading material from Jack O'Connor and sheep hunting. He will go for the M-70 in 270 and build his own legacy with it. I'm kind of partial to the M-70. My Dad bought his M-70 270 win. in 1952 I shot my first deer with it and then a few years later got my own M-70 in 300 H&H. Shot...

    Social security by the numbers

I have no idea what the rate needs to be. If the cap was removed I could see a reduction in the tax rate and that would help those in the lower income group.

    Social security by the numbers

Personally, I think the cap should be removed. Have a flat rate for everyone to keep it equal. Plus, if I'm not mistaken there may be some getting benefits other than the retirement benefit. But I may be wrong on that or not, time will tell. One issue is there are some who SS is there only...

    Pistol hunting

You gain some velocity, but accuracy and handling will be the important thing to get right. If you can handle the different models, I think you will find one that just feels better. Also see what is available for holsters that you would like to use hunting vs range use.

    Pistol hunting

Well I have four 44's and three 454's. They are all fun to shoot. Two 44's are scoped and two 454's are scoped. With either round you can taylor a load for each purpose, whether practice or hunting a certain size animal. For the 460 S&W check out the BFR revolvers and the S&W PC revolvers. If...

Help my inner Jeremiah Johnson... just got a new muzzleloader

Ben here is a website where you can plug in the info and get ballistic information. The second is a copy of the TC load information. Hope this helps. https://www.ctmuzzleloaders.com/ctml_experiments/rbballistics/web...

Help my inner Jeremiah Johnson... just got a new muzzleloader

Ben what rifle is it? You need to determine the ROT to see if it is a PRB only or will work with conical bullets. If it's a TC it will probably be 1-48 or rifles such as the Great Plains rifle will be probably a 1-66. The 1-48 you can use PRB or a maxi ball or other conical pure lead bullets. A...

    Ladder test interpretation

Maybe too much bullet jump. How much free bore do you have. I may be wrong, but I thought most if not all Weatherby rounds have free bore. Just a thought.

    Ladder test interpretation

I would try again when it is warmer. Are you close to max load according to your manual? The cold weather I think is a big part of the problem. Good luck.

    I remember when:

I remember ordering a new F-250 4x4 loaded for $7,200.00. The good old days!

The coolest rifle you could buy this year.

Brent if you told them the true cartridge of the old bolt action, they would be in line asking for one. Of course it was the first 256 Creedmoor ever developed. I'm sure once this gets out the stores will have shelves of 256 Creedmoor's in stock waiting for the masses to buy them up. ;)

    Should trail cams be legal?

All the electronic equipment that has been developed has removed the hunt from hunting. At some point it needs to stop, this is a good start. Ban them on public land nationwide. Use what you want on your private property. In today's climate security cameras are needed especially for predators "2...

    WTB Recurve in MSO Area

If you buy used I would advise not buying sight unseen. The limbs may have a slight twist in them that may not show up in pictures. Or cracks, de-laminations or other issues that may pop up. Also it would give you a chance to have it strung and you can pull it to your anchor point and see how it...

    Solid Broadheads?

Wish they still made the stainless Bear Razor. They were able to be screwed into your insert and the bleeder blade was easy to replace or remove to sharpen the broadhead. They reminded me of the 270 win. they were boring and they just flat worked. The price was also very good compared to the...

    The next surge

Good thing there are no forest fires in Montana and Idaho and the entire northwest. And the smoke well heck you get used to it in time. Heck these folks down south will feel right at home.

    Do you trust OnX

I had a Fitbit. One day I was wondering if it worked only from taking steps or did movement effect it. So, I sat down in a comfy chair and started to roll my wrist left and right while sitting. In a few minutes I had walked 100 steps. Also, there is no way (in my mind) the steps counted can...

    Bow sight recommendations/guidance?

I have 7 pin sights on my bows. I have 20, 40 & 60 red pins and the 30, 50, 70 & 80 are green pins. Once you shoot it for a little while it's easy to recognize the correct pin for the distance. My longest shot on a game animal was 42 yards. I limit my shots hunting to around 45 yards. I use the...
