Correct. But if you harvest a Rocky there seems to be nothing from stopping you from applying again for Rocky’s again the following year. There might be, I’m not sure I just find it weird that the tab isn’t blacked out while on your waiting period.
Does Colorado actually enforce the 5 year waiting period on Sheep and Goat apps after harvest?
Just so we are clear I have never broke the rules on this but it appears the system doesn’t have anything to stop somebody from doing it. My wife is in timeout right now and yet the Mountain Goat app...
The top one I actually could have arrowed then came to my senses that recovery would be iffy at best. My buddy got some cool pics of the stalk thru the spotter.
^Closing in. Regretted not having a bow sling of some sort, after this stalk I made a crude one out of para cord so I could have both...
That bottom one wouldn’t be stalkable just based on the size of balls it would take it would be really hard for the owner of said balls to drag them up the mountain.
I don’t think WY sheep is even close to fraud. In the words of Ricky Bobby:
“No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high level income, it's not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300. Heck, I just read in the newspaper that they put a pig heart in some...
Agreed. The 457 scout they could keep for the rest of their lives and you can easily find adult stocks, 22 wmr and 17 hmr barrels and it’s a high quality rifle with a great trigger. The accuracy of the scout is really good too, with quality ammo I have shot some pretty amazing groups at 50 yds...
I saw a good sized herd of pireps up there last year right above Hidden Valley Ranch. Didn’t seem to have a care in the world, just enjoying the sunshine. I would have gone after them but all I had was an elk tag.
I personally loved the old reissue I just think it should take your points. A mini-draw every week would probably be the best way to clear more points out of the system but that’s probably way too complex to execute. Although with the preview list now it might not be that difficult and making...
The reissue process is incredible easy to fix IMO. Go back to the old system of random release times, tags stay either Res or non-res (or res can grab a NR tag but they gotta pay non-res prices) and it takes all your points for that species.
^ Makes sense. I guess all I’m saying is it can be playing a dangerous game. Between winters, draw system and management changes I’m really trying to adapt a “burn em if you got em” mentality.
My wife dropped double the points required last year on a deer tag and I felt pretty silly punching...
No offense but 28 lope points is insane. You could have had about 8 good archery or 4 good rifle hunts by now. There isn’t an antelope unit in CO right now where there are a bunch of 80” bucks frolicking around no matter how many points it takes.
I’m really not opposed to the first deer season as long as tags for it come out of the 2nd-3rd-4th quota for that unit.
That’s a tough time of year to be hunting deer, and every tag pulled out of 3rd and issued for first has a high chance of not ending up on a buck. Getting back to “normal”...
I’d wager a guess that 75% of applicants don’t really understand how each draw system works.
I hear it every year here in CO “I should draw my sheep tag this year, my BIL drew it with 8 points and that’s what I have this year”
“I have just been building moose points and should have more then...
Its rather bizarre that they won’t address the root cause of point creep by doing exactly what you guys are stating. Voucher, 4th choice, re issue, second draw, otc doesn’t matter. A list= Points zeroed. If you have a specific hunt code that’s going undersold and need higher harvest then move it...
