Anyone give up hunting other species after getting your dog?

Most definitely. Pre-dog days I'd bowhunt 5 nights a week. Then it was shoot the first deer or two that came into bow range so I could get back to bird chasing. This year I sat three times all bow season. I wish that meant the new pup is turning into a rockstar, but that's not the case...

Making a job change possibly...what would you do?

Man, good luck. 15 years ago, while wife was preggers with #2, I turned down $35-40k/yr for trout and a 2# gray bird. I don't regret it for an instant.

    Grouse! Let’s See Them

I did a shadow box a few years back with some better fans. We shot some unique ones in WI with chocolate colored bands years ago, but they don't seem to cross the state line and I failed to save one. My wife has no idea just how cool this is...😆

Wildgame meat transported back into the US.

Yeah, when we came through last fall in the middle of the night, the F&W guys had a stop before we could even get to border patrol. Guys had a grill going and were in good spirits tailgating. They appreciated that we'd spent enough carwash money to buy a nice autoloader. Mud was last year's...

So if the meat is in the trailer and not the vehicle, I'm good, right?!? Brought to you by the same fools who didn't want dead MIGRATORY waterfowl coming across the border because it could spread avian diseases. SMDH.

Need your help, guys and gals - when do I say goodbye?

I wish I had some good advice or wisdom for you but I don't. You'll know when its time. I've only been through it once, and it still rips me up to think about. I spent the morning burning through kleenex explaining to our kids how I had that dog before I married their mom, before I bought...
