I've had worse things happen in my life. Just make sure you do nothing for 3 days even if you feel good. Had a friend go duck hunting a few years back 2 days after his vasectomy. After waddling around in his waders in mud for a day his nuts swealed up to the size of grapefruits.
Good hunting partners are hard to find, they cant care what things cost or the cost to get there. Success is something I always strive for but a guy has to be comfortable with the unknowns. I like to hunt by myself but its also nice to have someone there with to celebrate or as a moral boost...
I run Firestone air bags with the on board compressor, Its nice to have when you have a load and when you dont have a need just run them at 5lbs so you maintain the good stock ride.
Like Buzz said, the ship has sailed away. Western hunting has become a achievable feat for many people these days. My old go to leftover unit is now pretty much a 1 point draw now, thanks onyx maps.
It wont affect my my hunts, probably do more this year than ever. It has caused some relationship issues with my wife though, she works in heath care as a RN and looks at this debockle differently than I do.
Yea the good county's like Harding will take a non resident 6-10 years on average to draw, Butte county a NR guy can probably draw in 3-5 years. I don't think South Dakota holds a candle in the wind compared to Wyoming in numbers/size/sure opportunity to hunt antelope and not wait 3-10 years to...
I personalty wouldn't waste my time applying for a SD antelope tag for a rifle that is , first of all they are hard to draw there, The big ones are mostly on private. If you just want to kill a antelope it could be for you. Deer hunting with archery has changed since a guy cant hunt till Oct 1...
Im burning my 10 points this year. I never building more than 2 or 3 points in Wyoming again. It could be just my way of thinking but how many stud 190" deer are getting killed on these max points hunts compared to a lets say a 8-10 point guaranteed hunt?
