Anyone give up hunting other species after getting your dog?
There was about a 15 year period in my life when I didn’t do any big game hunting. It was all Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and waterfowl.- F250

game sled, roll-up/packable type any good?
I run the tow rope through the appropriate grommet holes, then secure around the deer’s head and snout like a horse halter as tightly as you can. Then you are pulling straight on the deer/load. If you take a little time, it’s possible to cinch the front of the roll up sled to make it like a torpedo.- F250

Let’s talk about the 243win
We were issued .243 ‘s in Ruger Model 77. Also issued Federal Premium 100 gr. Nosler Partitions. Very accurate. Super effective on deer, black bear, and the occasional moose. -

Small towns supporting high school sports
My hometown population was around 5500 in the mid 70’s. We made it to Division I Championship. I was starting OG and DE. My Dad skipped opening day of deer season to attend the game (first one he missed since getting back from Korea). Your boys will never forget that you went to the game !!!- F250
