    What does the end of the barrel look like? Is there a knurled section on the end? If so it is probably a cap that should screw off and reveal threads for the suppressor.

    "...around 400,000rpm was where things started getting iffy..." For 3,000 ft/second and and an 8" twist, it looks like the rotation speed is 270,000 rpm. So 400,000 rpm is pretty hot.

    Thanks for an excellent post. I have made similar mistakes over the years, in many cases more than once. What was amazing was going back and teasing out the mistakes and the lessons, then having the strength and humility to post it twice. Now to go back and read it again.
