I was very fortunate to draw a tag this year...about 15 years sooner than I expected, I had 19 points. I am also fortunate I live in the unit I drew, so scouting will be a lot easier. Working on getting my body ready. Can't wait until December!!!
19 days till my elk hunt and the anxiety is driving me nuts. Not for the reasons you would expect. Instead of anxious, I am feeling unprepared. Like I am forgetting something. Been doing all the normal prep stuff. Been scouting, in fact found a bull I'll gladly shoot on opening day if I can find...
Randy, is your version the '82 or '02 edition? I doubt very much that the info which is pertinent to us folks would change much in 20 years i.e. diet, behavior etc.
The reason I ask is because I am cheap and the cost difference between the 2 editions is about $140. :)
I am thinking of trying to put a caribou hunt together on Adak for summer of 2012. Anyone ever been? Any suggestions, particulars I might need to know thats not readily available? Thanks!!
I recommend the viper as well. I have had VXiii's with no complaints, but the warranty and service from Vortex is unbeatable. Whatever you decide, if you plan on shooting passed 200 yds, I strongly suggest you get a scope with paralax adjustment.
