    CCI no. 34 primers

An acquaintance recently gave me 300 of these. Not sure what to do with them. Probably the closest thing to 7.62mm that I load is .308win. Any reason I couldn't use these in .308? How do they compare to CCI 200s?

    Gunrepaircenter.com

Anybody has dealings with this business? The seem to have a pretty decent stock of Remington parts. I've been all over their website and it looks pretty legit, but you just never know these days.

LOOKING FOR - left-handed Remington 700 bolt and wooden stock

I guess it's all in the title line. LH Rem 700 stuff, short action. Building my wife a .243. She shoots lefty. Probably could use a trigger assembly too.

    Stripped down Rem 700 receiver

My wife has fond memories of her first deer rifle, an old Remington 600 in .243. I decided to build her a rifle as close to the specs and feel of that old gun as I could get, only left-handed. So after searching far and wide I got a hold of a serviceable LH stripped down short action Remington...

Great hunt with a great friend.

Chris is a good friend I've hunted with a lot of years. We spent most of the day Monday hunkered down about 400yards from a herd of bedded elk. Finally in the late afternoon they started getting up and moving across the slope in front of us presenting the opportunity we'd been waiting for. We...

    Good to be bowhunting again.

I've had a lot of trouble with shoulder injuries the last few years. The result being, I had pretty well stopped bowhunting. This past spring I decided to see what I could do, so I got out this old Parker Hunter Mag I've had for years, kept turning down the draw weight to a point I could...

    Any idea what these are???

I ordered a few things from Midway USA the other day. One of them being "factory overrun Sierra Game Kings 7mm 150grain". Well, my order arrived today and, I guess I'm no bulletsmith, but these ain't GameKings. I measured and weighed them - they are 7mm and 150gn. But they look like a Fusion...

    .284 Win and heavier-ish bullets

I'm interested in seeing if I can get my .284 Win to shoot a little heavier bullet. So far all I've tried 160gn NABs with H4350. I'd say the outcome was mediocre. Before I try something else I thought I'd put out the question for others that load and shoot a .284. What do you use for 160gn...

    Waste of Game

I was kind of appalled when I went to the landfill yesterday and saw this laying off to the side: Maybe this was roadkill, but I'm not sure why someone would gut and skin roadkill. I can't imagine that this wouldn't be considered waste of game. I seriously considered calling the Game...

    Shotgun slugs

I'm not a big shotgun guy, but I recently acquired a Remington 870 with a rifled slug barrel. Any recommendations on slugs/ammo for such a thing? I might use it in a deer hunt out here where we live.

    Man's Best Friend

It has always been fascinating to me how natural and innate is the connection between canine and human. This is a picture of my 15-y/o daughter and a boxer puppy we just adopted from the rescue.

    .277 Fury

I'm more or less on the lookout for my next build. The .277 Sig Fury is a contender and I noticed X-Caliber has it as an option in Rem-Age barrels. Anybody have one?

Hammer Bullets - what makes them so great?

I haven't tried them, but they seem to have a growing and dedicated fan base. Everyone that loads them seems to love them. Why are they so good? Accuracy? Performance on game?
