Well, like no one saw this coming.
Colorado is relocating wolves due to "wildlife" attacks.
Apparently their definition of wildlife means cattle.
Glad I'm not a cattle rancher in Colorado! Game commission would arrest me.
Dark haired lady is a freaking idiot!!
So is it just me, or are Weatherby Mark V's like potato chips?
You can't have just one.
I went 38 years of hunting without one.
Then within about 8 months I have 3.
Then @golfer sends me a picture of a nice 270 WBY at a good price.
Such a tease. Lol
I'm wanting to adjust the draw weight (lower) on a used bow I recently bought.
Question.
Do this with the tension on the limbs, or release the tension?
Ok, recently bought 2 different 45 caliber firearms.
Problem is that there are 3 pressure levels for each.
First firearm is a Taurus Judge with the 6.5" barrel.
I have a bunch of 185gr Sierra JHP.
I have found data from Lyman 48th for the 185gr, but it's rifle data, not pistol.
The data...
So late last year I picked up a Henry Single Shot Brass in 45-70 for a woods rifle.
Really like the gun, but the sights, not so much.
Was thinking about putting a red (green) dot on it to keep the sights small and low.
Been looking at the Holosun 515 & 530.
Quite a few models for each...
Has any of the "mainstream media" yet reported about Saudi Arabia putting an end to the US dollar as the only money of use to buy oil?
I've only seen 3 places ( that most people probably don't go to) that have done reports on it.
Dana Loesch ( I think that's the spelling) had a good...
I'm planning on a hunt in Wyoming this year.
Figured since you never know what the weather will be, I've started practicing more during high wind days here.
I set out a 6" diameter steel plate at 300 yards.
Shooting with variable winds ranging from 5-25mph.
Very telling on the effects the...
So, my local gun shop has an agreement with the shooting range to be able to sell memberships for them.
I stopped by to get said membership.
While there, i happen to look at the used gun rack, and there it is...
A Ruger 77 Stainless with the Zytel stock in 270 Win.
I have been...
Just found out that a non resident needs a guide or resident to hunt in Wyoming.
What The Heck!!??
So much for the DIY on a budget that doesn't know anyone out there!
So, my niece inherited a Remington 870, 12ga.
28" barrel with no removable choke. (I'm assuming modified choke)
She wants to use it as a home defense gun.
So for her XMAS present I ordered her a new barrel.
18.5" with bead sight & removable choke.
Website i ordered from claims barrel made by...
Doing some very last minute loading for next weekends PA blackbear season.
Happened to run across a bag of 7mm, 150gr Tipped GameKing on my shelf that i had forgotten i had.
Loading for 280 Rem. Already have good loads for a variety of 150gr bullets. Partition, ABLR, NBT & Berger Classic...
So i was at the gun shop, looking at a revolver.
When my ID & credit card fell out of my wallet...
:D
Taurus Judge.
The part that made me almost want to cry was buying a box of ammo for it! $68!!
For Fed American Eagle 225gr.
Took it to the range. 6" left at 25 yards. And a pussycat...
I just picked up my new 45 caliber inline yesterday.
Growing up I have always used Goes black powder.
Alas, now finding actual black powder to buy just isn't going to happen.
Aside from making my own.
So looking at substitutes, which is a better choice?
I really didn't care for Pyrodex...
Looking to get an inline this year.
My question.
Is there any advantage to getting a 50 caliber over a 45 caliber?
With the 50, I will probably end up shooting 45cal sabot anyways.
With the 45, I can easily duplicate a 45-70.
So i bought a not to be named revolver back in October.
Stainless 357 Mag with Rosewood grips & 3" barrel.
Took it out first time & it only discharged 4 out of 30 rounds.
Called manufacture.
Was asked what color the main spring was. Had no clue as i only had it for a week & hadn't taken it...
I tagged my one allotted buck in PA on opening day of rifle season.
Really decent 7pt!
To me at least!
Last day still with 4 doe tags in my pocket.
Heard something in the leaves over my right shoulder. Didn't sound like a squirrel.
Turn & look.
Deer about 125 yards away.
Then i could see...
In my discussions with a tech from Weatherby, i learned that they do not offer their Mark V actions, or barreled actions for sale.
Since the idea of building a wildcat 7mm-378 ELR/ULR rifle on a Mark V action occurred to me, i'll admit to being disappointed in hearing this.
So i'm going to...
So i have this new Weatherby Mark V that is Ceracoated a tan color.
The muzzle brake is also Ceracoated.
Which gets pretty carboned, pretty quickly.
I've been using a mixture of Hoppes #9 & Kroil to clean at the range. Some on a paper towel & picked up some pipe cleaners.
And i'm scrubbing...
As i've posted already, i bought a NEW (gasp!!!) Weatherby Mark V Weathermark LT.
Set up thus far has included an EGW one piece 20MOA base.
Vortex Viper low rings.
Burris Fullfield E1 scope with MOA reticle.
Mounted the base with a couple drops of the green Loctite usually used for bearing...
