I noticed the deer i shot yesterday had a pretty nasty gash on the inside of his shank on a rear leg. Commented to my buddy he must have caught a barb going over a fence. Maybe a couple inches of torn hide.
Didn't think much of it until this morning.
When I got home yesterday I hung him up...
Every day reminders.
Now I see my trusty bone saw is considered to be vintage.🙄
Yep, archives indicate previous threads.
Anybody out there recommend a " m odern" version that is as sturdy as the Pac-Saw, but also has fine/ coarse cutting teeth. Flimsy plastic crap won't cut it.
Decided to sell this 7 weight.
This rod is built with components that resist saltwater corrosion.
Action is med/ fast.
Tough time getting a picture without glare. I have scrutinized the rod, it is nearly flawless, no nicks , one very faint scuff mark.

I'm curious to see what members have for fishing/hunting boats. Share the specifics if you would. Not interested in ski, wake or any other of the like.
I have a 16' War Eagle for fishing. My Honda 25 just gave up the ghost after 20 some odd years. Upgraded to a Honda30 w/trim recently. I added...
Couldn't find the size but I'm gonna call it a medium. I'm 5'10" with a 34" waist.
Pack is clean, and fully functional. I think I packed out one elk, one antelope.
It really hasn't been used much, since my main hunting pack was a Metcalf, and now a SG.
$300.00 cash
Sorry to say, but Montana...
There is a bunch of annoying " stuff" in my shop and garage that needs to be put elsewhere....tires, garden tools, lawnmower, fertilizer, hoses. Standard fare.
Problem is I'm particular about appearance and want a small structure that is unique. So surely I can design something conventional...
Okay, starting a second music thread for today. Harley indicated he is watching guitar tutorials. Thought we could compile some inspiration from the Tube.😀
Here ya go @noharleyyet .
Took a trip to the Bair museum in Martinsdale. Wow, amazing display.
Attention @BrentD , @shrapnel , and any other antique rifle hawks. Can you identify these firearms?
To the amusement of the dog owners of Hunttalk, can ANYBODY recommend ( through experience) a dog bed which cannot be shredded in the hours of a normal working day?
Serious question.
😒
I have a BIL in Oregon who runs a dairy farm. He keeps telling me to come out and harvest an elk. Anybody from Oregon understand the hoops for a non resident to hunt on a residents property using a damage tag or a landowner preference tag? Is the process a pain in the butt?
Yeah, I'm lazy...
Elk...
Decided to expand my arsenal for turkeys...but this time it is budget oriented.
Bought a Savage /Stevens 301 single shot 20 gauge
I want to go the route of a red dot scope.
Anybody have this shotgun scoped they can share some feedback?
Eventually upgrading the extra full choke for maximum...
Different kind of thread. I'm curious how many of you have a passion for exploring above treeline? Since I was a kid I have always been drawn to high peaks, alpine lakes, wandering ridge lines. Some of the climbs have been slightly ego driven but most have been purely about seeking solitude. I...
So I bought my daughter a TikkaT3 youth model but sadly she opted out. She likes shooting but has no desire to hunt, at least for now. We were shooting reduced loads in 125g.
So there it sits in my safe.
Bi annually I give everything a look over and in handling this rifle the last time I really...
Its been five months, a period in which my world was turned upside down.
Its time to give back to Hunttalk. I have enjoyed all the contributions over many years and though I consider myself a private person I want to share this experience with more detail and reflection. This could take awhile...
Never thought I would be in a conversation about which atv to buy,but here i am.
Anyone have any experience with CFmoto? Price point is good but I have read mixed reviews. I don't need to be convinced about other brands in this thread. Rather hear the good, the bad, and the ugly about the title...
No surprise the new Governor is dropping the mask mandate and opening Montana doors to business. Our family was doubly excited to hear that teachers are getting dropped a tier for the vaccine. Nice !
Can't say how excited I am for the whole friggin country racing back to Montana in 2021....just...
