That certainly happens but they often take unanimous decisions and either affirm or overturn. For example, recently SCOTUS overturned Chevron deference in the Loper v. Raimondo case. SCOTUS will often take these “high profile” cases to clarify the constitutionality of important laws. I think...
So good! Would love to see this go to SCOTUS but since the 10th Circuit covers a huge chunk of western “hunting” states I’m hoping this has a reverberating effect and it’s precedence is enough to get state legislatures to codify this ruling. 🤞
Looks like the winter data is out on the Wyoming/Sublette deer herd conditions.
Pro: really good fawn survival and healthy does.
Con: buck ratio is still low especially for older bucks. Good crop of older bucks coming in several years if we don’t have another 22-23 winter...
I was a bit disappointed that the guest kept dancing around the tough questions and never answered them. He said one of the pillars of the North American model is to get funds efficiently as possible, but I don’t see that in the seven pillars advocated by his buddy, Shane Mahoney.
The model...
You make a great point. It’s also multifactorial so sometimes tough to delineate between cause and effect. I would love to see more transparency to see what effect organizations like WSF is having as compared to other organizations and game/fish departments. WSF has raised over $100million and...
@Bambistew that seems to be my observation as well. The only state I can find that has really good transparency is Arizona. I keep researching and still haven’t seen any hard data linking these auction tags to more sheep and thus more tags. If anybody has some I would love to see it.
No, but this is the ram JJ shot in NM last year. I think he paid $600k for that tag. Grossed out at 208. Not sure what net was. My guess is there is a bigger one that is being watched day and night by an outfitter for $1.3M.
Rough day in our household. We lost our Maverick today. He was such a good boy and we will miss him tremendously. He was shaping up to be such a great hunting dog. Hug your pups. Never know when they will be gone.
We all agree this is straight up weird, but shouldn’t we be glad he is hunting high fence instead of taking opportunities away from us on public land? I say, stay where you are, Mr. Bailey, and please don’t mingle with us common folk.
“Ethical behavior is doing the right thing when no one else is watching—even when doing the wrong thing is legal” Aldo Leopold.
There is no question the loophole exists to allow this behavior, it just makes me sad to see how commercialized hunting is becoming. This is actually a great argument...
Good. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. It’s individuals like you that try to work around the system in such a way that has created the complexity we have today. And you don’t even recognize why it’s shady.
