I would assume he has some kind of testicular damage. From what I understand that can commonly cause antler abnormalities as in the photo. Might have some wild growth and stay in velvet.
For those that run ATVs at elevation v closer to sea level, do you notice much performance change or operational issues? First time bringing an ATV with me at elevation and was curious. 2008 arctic cat 355. Let me know, thanks.
I am contemplating bringing an ATV to mule deer hunt this fall in Colorado. Where I plan on hunting does have trails for this sporadically around the area, however, I still plan to park and hike in to limit noise production. The idea seems appealing to me, but I am not sure it is worth it to...
Be prepared for every prick to crawl out and comment on this post. Everyone gets really worked up when people ask for help on forums these days lol.
I am a very novice western hunter but have dabbled in elk, muleys, and pronghorn with some degree of success. When it comes to public land elk...
Great deer. Looks like it was a fun time. As a NW MO native, I find sitting by a field very enjoyable while hunting whitetails with a firearm. Enjoy the delicious meat!
I really have desires to go black bear hunting in CO in the fall at some point soon. I have stupidly been paying for points for bears over the years even though that was essentially a waste of money lol. What unit do you guys like for a beginner bear hunter? I have read that the Gunnison region...
Yeah I live in MO and birds are dwindling in both states. Private that I used to hunt in KS always had gobblers. It’s been nothing short of a ghost town recently. Unfortunate.
Can anyone tell me when we will see results for the KS spring turkey draw? Can’t find that info anywhere. All I can find is when leftovers go on sale; if there are any. Thanks.
Not at all apples to oranges. If someone isn't willing to cough up the money to pay for those subscription services, especially non-res hunters, then I would say they probably are not too fond of out of state tag costs. Especially when just paying to accumulate preference points. Weeds out...
I would say I have gotten more relevant "secret" info from a simple call to a Wildlife officer for a specific unit over the years. It is weird, they don't hesitate to share information. Someone should tell them their public sharing is a detriment to western hunting. Hell, they even have specific...
I won't be deleting anything, good info for all that wish to go poke around. If this is enough information to guarantee a nice muley buck, people are in luck!
I have heard that the pressure for elk there is intense! Of course being close to Woodland Park and Co Springs, I am sure it doesn't help. Just curious, what do you think would change for your 3/4 season strategy? Are you referring to elevation, forage, proximity to private? Thanks for the feedback.
Looking to try and draw this tag in 2024. Should have more than enough points for 3rd/4th rifle season. Looking to see if anyone has hunted mule deer here before and what your experience was in the later seasons. I have heard that they will work down toward private and this can impact public...
Quick question for you all. In years past, I have a very open ag field that deer feed into from joining timber that I don't have permission to hunt. There is quite literally no cover, but it is lights out for the deer to feed into it. Like clockwork. I want to bow hunt it more with a ground...
Hey all!
Just curious to hear from every one if you have started your elk season or when you are going this year? I will be headed out to Colorado for first rifle very soon. Feeling anxious, but prepared. How is everyone feeling about their trip? Let me know!
