Very nice! I still haven't been able to get started on mine other than clearing out the location I want it and a little bit of the framework. The 'rona has kinda gotten in the way of that this year. I've been much busier this year with work than I anticipated, but things are starting to slow...
I built mine last year and the only regret was not doing it sooner. I went with Coolbot and one of their recommended ac units. The system works great, seems energy efficient enough, gets down to temp quickly and stays around 33' . I followed their instructional videos for the most part, used two...
...Walk-In Cooler / Freezer / Insulated room...
I have a set of used Walk-In Cooler panels for sale in the classifieds area.. Combine these with a Coolbot and a little effort and you would have a great cold storage room...
Isn't the coolbot just a thermostat? The problem with window a/c units is that they aren't designed for a constant running temp that low. Its also not efficient. There is a reason the world went to refridgerant and condensing units for keeping things cold.
Just my opinion of course but if I...
...a 7X12 enclosed trailer at work this year. I installed an AC unit in the front and spray foamed the heck out of the thing. I've got the coolbot sitting in the garage and ready to install when I get time. I need to put some kind of floor drain in for easy cleaning and a system for hanging...
...spring/summer. Part of the space is a partitioned off area designated to be a walk in refrigerator.
Same plan for me... going to try the Coolbot. Testimonials are pretty convincing ,this device should work quite nicely in my 4' x 8' well insulated space. Looking forward to not being frantic...
...I was getting by with an old fridge. This year I decided to pull the trigger and modify an existing shed into a cooler using a window AC and CoolBot unit. I researched the system and did my best to follow recommendations found on youtube. Like so many projects do, this was way over time and...
I'm planning on using unistrut and door hangers.....like the rolling hangers and rail used for barn doors. I'll probably have to get creative making a hook to put on the hanger but that's part of the fun of DIY. Lowes has the strut and rollers if you look on their website. Pretty reasonable.
...and eating without having to completely clean up the butchering in progress would be nice. I would also have an old enclosed trailer with a Coolbot setup and full insulation parked next to the house. Find a few small town butcher shops in the off season and ask for a tour of their setups...
...my garden to allow more time for me to can/preserve/etc. I'm looking at building a rather small unit....probably 6'X6' or so...and using a CoolBot for the refrigeration unit. I've got some refrigeration panels here at work that were left over from a project we did a few years ago. I'm...
...as the unit never appeared to shutoff even when below set temp. Apparently, the AC fan continues running even when the compressor is off. Coolbot manual says this is a good thing to keep air circulating. If AC is set to ECO mode the whole thing turns off. I will alert the forum if my next...
...for 7 days in the garage with some hanging quarters.
Guess we are lucky in that our fall temps allow us to age our game in our own garage. We do now have access to a coolbot powered walkin cooler for warmer weather.
Coolbots are awesome . Want one to convert part of our garage to a true walkin.
