Certainly understand your rant and the reasons thereof. However, that does not reflect the attitude and M.O. of most outfitters.
As to the "2 fold":
1. "Marginal" behavior may be the M.O. of the outfitter you cite, but most outfitters don't operate that way.
2. Realize that the public land...
"Ridiculous" questions reflecting now an obsession with fire suppression costs as provided by Buzz.
'Suggest more research on the history and large volume of information regarding PLT and related issues. Obsession with fire suppression costs and hunting license revenues is barely tangential...
Skewed logic again in response to TheTone, as those who advocate for the "ploy" don't care about fire mitigation costs or any other costs to the state. It doesn't even cross their "privatization" minds. They just know from history that the states which all seek increased revenues for a vast...
Not an outfitter, nor ever hired one, as a lifelong older Montana DIY hunter and wildlife advocate, I have to acknowledge the positive impact to the hunting legacy, to wildlife management, and to acquisition and enhancement of wildlife habitat by the outfitting industry in Montana.

It seems there are a number of those on HT who are argumentative polemists bent on stirring up controversy, often with little accurate information, logical statements, or realistic valid solutions. Don't know if it's to seek attention or to merely fill an uncomfortable void in life.

I understand your delusion. Let's agree to disagree and leave it at that since we live in two different universes. History, data, legislation, and factual information form my reality.
It's unclear from whence Treeshark reality eminates.
Someone from Wyoming should have a better realization of the difficulty in residing in the snowy, oft inaccessible backcountry where most USFS cabins are located. It's a tough trip through paradise to Walmart! Even fed workers have to eat.
Not Montana, since as a relatively sparsely populated state the tax base is low, resulting in Montana being a "welfare" state that relies heavily on federal money ... some of which comes from your Wisconsin tax payers. Some of our state roads are in tough shape due to lack of funding and...
Please don't continue to confuse differences between federal and state land ownership and management, as well as differences between federal and state wildlife management.
Grandson Bode (left), Traver PRCA Steer Wrestling Rookie of the Year, and Quenten (Baker, MT), three bulldoggers who travelled together and competed all over the west last rodeo season and all three were "in the money" at the prestigious Pendleton Roundup.
