After I'd posted that leaving meat on the bone helps with tenderness, someone else posted that not leaving it on the bone couldn't be the reason it was tougher. As you posted, Hank Shaw agrees with the thought that leaving it on the bone helps, hence my smartass comment. Sorry...
The longer you can leave meat on the bone, especially as it goes in and out of rigor mortis, the more tender it will be. Also, if it's chilled too fast it can be tougher from cold shortening.

I can't get this to link directly to the news blurb, but if you go to the linked page and search for Brenden, you'll find it. http://www.kltz.com/mobile/newssearch.php?select=2011-09-01
Thanks for the update katqanna. I'm sure it's mere coincidence that the meeting open to the public was cancelled shortly after the public started finding out about it. I'm sure Stuker did intend to take public comment, being that Rein and Anderson are members of the public...

Which MagnetoSpeed chronograph are you talking about? The Sporter isn't that much more than the RCBS AmmoMaster unless you found a great deal on one. The Competition Electronics ProChrono is solid and inexpensive.
I currently use a Sporter because of the convenience that SnowyMountaineer cited...
This being a thread about the CDS, my post was specific to it. The CDS scopes I used to have came with neither of those. The MOA dials I got from Leupold did have a ball bearing to hit the post and serve as a zero stop though. But they turn easier than I'd like while riding next to a pack.
Are you asking me if it's true? The barreled actions below look a lot alike. Brownells shows blued lightweight barreled actions for $434 and Cerakoted for $532. Add a McMillan EDGE for about $650 and you're in the ballpark of the $1070 Sportsman's Warehouse shows for the Alpine. With a stock...
The non-Cerakoted version of the barreled action is available. Look at any of the models that have the 20" #1 barrel, excluding the Minis. It is available as just the barreled action but you'll likely pay as much or more as one with a stock.
