Tips for getting in shape for backcountry

Kansas SE Turkey Hunting

Moved here about 1.5 years ago for my NWTF position and absolutely love it. Came from KS, and then lived near Billings a year. My girlfriend works at the VA hospital and I'm on the road a ton, so we to have struggled to meet too many folks, except for our volunteers in the area. I don't see us...- MT_BWHTR

Same as above. We put 7 in the freezer this year. Simple tip is to brine them in saltwater and brown sugar, or a mix of milk and brown sugar. Biggest mistake people make is over cooking.- MT_BWHTR

Montana HD 455 - Beartooth WMA
We will primarily be hunting Archery. We were wanting to backpack in off the trailhead but it looks like you have to camp in designated camping areas? That will put us starting out with all the horse guys every day if it's true.
