Damn that is a huge Wolf! I have a buddy who has been trapping wolves in AK for ten years and has never caught anything bigger than 120lbs - which is a huge wolf. This is truly a giant animal. Favorite wild game finger food/appetizer?
Second queso! saute onions and garlic first, then melt a ton of butter, then melt in cream cheese, then a bunch of tasty cheese with your chorizo. Broil at the end for a slightly burnt crust on top!- daltrix99

Solar Chargers - What do you use?
Dark Energy is excellent, I had a great season beating mine up in the mountains. In direct sun it will charge a power bank or phone very quickly. Seconding another comment to avoid goal zero. Overpriced for less than top quality.- daltrix99

Guesses on Score?
Be careful passing bucks because they don't appear wide enough if you are particularly concerned with score (not judging either way). High-and-tights will score better than wide bucks all other things being equal. Tine length dominates score. -
Montanans how long since your last mule deer
Shot a 160" in 2022. Haven't seen one bigger since then on public land during hunting season, would take at least that size for me to send another round. -

A true MT Elk Camp, celebrating 31 Years
Great post, thanks for the inspiration. I love this side of hunting, and it reminds me of Robert Ruark’s way of romanticizing a hunt. Next year will be year 10 at a hunt camp for me and my best friends, same sort of thing. Same spot, same elk, we’ve seen the wolves, the people, the trees change... -
