Thanks Fecl...I appreciate your honesty. I talked to a guy that lives in Luna and he said they had a big predation hunt there a couple of years ago. Said lots of hunters too. I think I might have to work hard to get away from the crowd....If you know of anyone that might help me...let me know...
I finally found my copy of my application and it looks more likely that I drew in Unit 23. Does anyone have any experience in that unit?
Cheers

No worries on the Elevation....It doesn't bother me until it gets above 10k. We hunted 6500-9000 in the Frank Church for the last 3 years. Before that it was way high in Colorado.

Just found a charge for New Mexico on the Credit Card this morning. 2 Bull tags. First Time I've applied in NM and I have no idea where we are going. Been so long since I applied I'm not even sure of the unit. I think it was Muzz in 15, Rifle in 15 or rifle in 23. Maybe in that order. Who...
All you have to do is hold your breath? Damn..I thought I was going to have to piss on an electric fence. I'm thinking about sacrificing a chicken or something over here...but really all I need to do is win a lottery and I can just buy one of those Private Land Vouchers. LOL

Chambero,
Good luck on your plans...you will love the 300 wsm. I've got the Winchester Featherweight and it is some bad ass elk medicine. I have to wait on a couple of draws before I make my plans. I might end up in Colorado on a general tag if I don't hit NM or AZ.

I've got it bad too....I guess that's because I haven't figured out what I'm going to do this year yet. Have a NM app in....putting in AZ & have a line on a ranch in Idaho. I'm the type that could go a couple of times a year and never get tired of it...

Well....Utah wrote me the annual "Sorry you didn't draw" love letter. I'm going to hit that tag one of these days.
Way I figure it ... I have about a 15% chance of hitting my New Mexico Tag.
So....anyone looking for an extra hunter this fall? LOL

You will be well served by listening to DanR.
When it comes to matters of rifles and cartridges, he will only steer you down the right trail. He knows what he is talking about and I've read many of his posts.
160 Noz is the one you are after.

I hate parting with a gun...but I have another 300 short mag..& a 7 mag long gun that serves the purpose well. The best part now is trying to buy it's replacement
Buying a bigger safe is not in the budget right now...lol.

Whats up everyone. Been a while since I've posted and I thought I would say hello. Thinking about 2004 already and I'm looking for a hunt. Past 4 years I've put my group(s) together and I just want to take a year off and see if anyone else is looking for a good hand in a good camp? Not the...
