Dangerous Game Rifle ?

Boy what you going to do or should say hunt with rifle like that? I had a friend that dislocated his shoulder bone shooting that 378 weatherby from a prone position. Hope you get your brass ok.

Porker Medication

Ranger most my friends that hunt pig around here have been using the lever actions by Marlin Co. 444 mag and 45-70. You ever shoulder one of those big boys on a porker?

which ammo??

Federal Ammo-180 or 200 will work smartly. I'd stay away from the Hi-Energy stuff, ain't to accurate it seems.

Dangerous Game Rifle ?

JB I found that 416 Remington brass, I think you were the one looking for some. It is in the Midway catalog Phone #1-800-243-3220 Mister did you ever drop the hammer on that 378 rifle? It will kick you worse than a single barrel 10 gauge, that's the gospel to your ears.

What kind of gun does everyone use?

I keep busy trying to slow down the growth population of yotes and stray dogs about. I use a 222 on the stray cats and crows. My other guns is a 22-250 and 25-06 for the deep field shooting.

Dangerous Game Rifle ?

JB I once put 3 bullets clean through a moose in Canada at 70 paces with that 338 and barnes 250 weight bullet. So I really don't think that buffalo would stop those slugs either. Not unless their sides are made of steel. I am sold on the 338 caliber gun, just don't think I need anything bigger...

Favorite Shotgun for Turkeys

what can i get from a pig???

JB I do appreciate your come back, I don't know anything about the hunting laws in Africa, really never gave it much thought mind you. I do know that many many big game animals have been killed over there with 7x57 rifles in years past. Those rifles can't hold a candle to the 338 with a 250...

Cathunt-mt I remember reading a book on rifle calibers once, and Mr. Jim Carmichael stated that the 338 win mag was good for just about anything. He had in fact taken lion and buffalo with his 338 mag. I don't go to video stores or watch all that phony business on hunting animals buy people...

what can i get from a pig???

Ranger that was a fine howdy do on the lesson of cooking pig in the kitchen. I ain't never heard it put that way, but the smell is all the same. It sure is nice if you can find one that's been chewing in a corn field for a month or so before you lay him to rest. The eating is more to my liking.

OK I would like to know why one needs such a big caliber to shoot a lion or buffalo? I would think that my 338 loaded up with good bullets would get the job done surely. I am also thinking that such a big cannon would really start a person to backing away when firing it at anything. I was told...
