I like your thinking and have found this to be true, I hunt the area every year and do see cycles of pressure. Sounds like you have spend some time around there PM me if you want to chat about the area. I have hunted that area since the 80s know it very well..
Ok, I did see that go to article from Eastman's. They have ran that for years. Just never saw them say Raynolds pass, so that's what caught my eye when you mentioned it. For sure no secrets around there the area gets pounded. It has for years.
Interesting. I heard that the trailhead has been closed, while FWP continues there search and there "investigation". Actually had to change my hunting plans for the weekend because of this. I did call the Hebgen Lake ranger station as per newspaper article for "further information". Because...
Just heard about this attack. This is the newest attack I have heard of. The area I am referring to are the two attacks/encounters around Hebgen lake. Its getting out of hand around there.
JLS,
Eastman's had Reynold's pass as a go to area for Archery season? I grew up around there and find that real strange. I must of missed that in there magazine that I read front to back. A pack of wolves and a couple griz is what you will find there during archery season...maybe a couple elk...
We use these sleds a lot. Here is my 14 year old son, this year with his Mulie. he shot it just under 4 miles in and he was able to pull it most of the way himself. It is all about the conditions when it comes to sleds. The neetkart is great also, if a sled will not work.
Congrats, we ran close to 90 river miles on Sat. Kipp to Ferry. Pre-rut has started. We are heading up on Weds. for as long as it takes.
Would like to hear about the hunt.
npaden, thanks for the letter link. How do you like your rzr trail 50"?, been looking at them or the Honda pioneer 500, 50". I have been noticing some other trails being open now for sxs 50".
kneetopia, sorry to get of the subject. Yes there is a snow storm coming in early this week and should...
Hello,
I saw your post on the sheep thread "It Happens", wondering if you guys have a tag for the North or South side. My Dad has a 680 tag (after 42 years of applying), just got back a couple days ago.
No shooters yet, though.
Take Care, Chris
Spend time in Sheep Crk. just outside of Cooke, take the road going to the water tank, then walk up the old jeep tr. into Sheep crk. A lot of Goats will be in the park but like to spend some time in the Sheep crk area as they cycle around the Mtn.
Another area is Lost Crk./Cutoff Mtn. and Back...
Greenhorn, I just mentioned about what a sight it used to be with the elk and big bull memories in that area, did not say anything about hunting the area "pre wolf era". Got to admit I loved the 380 persuasion tactic at the start of the thread. Big Sky was busy Monday morning with the big bull show.
I grew up just down the road from this area/elk dist. The migration was an awesome time to watch thousands of elk. Lots of good memories of monster bulls. Pre-wolf era of course. It's never been the same as the '70's, '80's and '90's though.
Yea. Heard about this bull Monday morning before all the pics were sent out yesterday. Should be interesting to see the score. Fun to look at for sure.
Great job guys. Great bull. I have known about this bull being taken. It is great that you posted on this
Site. Thank you very much for sharing. Let the flood gates open. Any story on the hunt?
