I am part of the problem....
Don't get me wrong...... I am a BIG fan of the 9 months of the year I get to chase big game here in Montana. The opportunities we are afforded here are unmatched. I take full advantage, and spend 3 months each spring chasing bears..... kick things off in mid August chasing antelope and wrap... -
Skull size
I have 10 or so euro bulls in my garage and just took a look at all of them. The 290-320 bulls are all about 18" from tip of nose to top of skull.... the two 340-350" bulls are over 20" and noticeably "beefier". The 360 bull is shoulder mounted so I can't measure his skull, but guessing it... -

Finally loosened my grip on my buddy's bullets tonight and let him send one down range..... did see some rutting activity today for sure, but this guy and another decent buck were bedded all by them selves right before dark. They weren't in a hurry to get up and go anywhere, even as the sun... -

Friday night we saw little rut activity in either species..... Monday was also slow rut wise despite seeing well over 500 does... probably closer to 1000. Yeah we covered some ground yesterday, trying to get the lay of the land. We did see bucks, but nothing we wanted to shoot... where we... -
Access State Land via River
So if I am archery hunting waterfowl (which is a legal means of take) while wading / walking within the high water marks.... I am good to go... right? No need to haul a fishing rod if I am already archery hunting from what I can see. -
